Information about newsletter

On the SIVIS GmbH website, users are given the opportunity to subscribe to our company’s email newsletter. The following personal data is transferred to the controller responsible for the processing when the newsletter is ordered:

Email address
First name
Phone number
The personal data collected in the context of registering for the newsletter will be used exclusively to send our newsletter.

The newsletter is sent via Leadpages and Drip, provided by Avenue 81, Inc. d/b/a Leadpages, 251 N. 1st Avenue, Suite 200, Minneapolis, MN 55401, USA, in the following referred to as “shipping service provider”. The privacy policy of the shipping service provider can be viewed here:

Furthermore, according to its own information, the shipping service provider may use this data in pseudonymized form, i.e. without allocation to a user, to optimize or improve its own services, such as technical optimization of the distribution process or the layout of the newsletter, or for statistical purposes in order to determine the recipients’ countries of residence. However, the shipping service provider does not use the data of our newsletter subscribers to contact them directly or pass them on to third parties.

By subscribing to our newsletter, you agree to the receipt and procedures described. You may unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time by clicking on the unsubscribe link contained in each of our newsletter emails.

Double-opt-in and registration recording

You subscribe to our newsletter in a two-step process known as double opt-in, which means that upon registration, you will receive an email requesting confirmation of the subscription. The confirmation is required to ensure that no one else can subscribe using your email address. A record of subscriptions to the newsletter is kept to fulfil the legal requirements for recording the subscription process. The record contains the time of subscription and confirmation as well as the relevant IP address. Any changes of data registered with the shipping service provider will also be recorded.

Statistical data collection and analysis

Our newsletters contain what is known as a web beacon or open tracker, a tiny invisible graphic in the bottom of your HTML email. It is downloaded from the shipping service provider’s server when the newsletter is opened. During the download, technical information about your browser and operating system as well as your IP address and the time of the download/opening of the newsletter are collected. These are used for technical improvement of the service, as technical data or target group data can be analyzed according to their reading behavior, their download locations (identifiable through IP addresses) or download times. Statistical data collection also includes an analysis of when the newsletters are opened and which links are clicked upon. Although this information technically allows the tracking of individual newsletter recipients, we are not interested in watching the behavior of individual users. Data analysis is used to recognize patterns in the reading behavior of users and adapt contents accordingly or send different content to individual users.

Safe communication in the internet

In general the internet is an unsafe medium. Transmitted data can be wiretapped, recorded and even changed by unauthorized third parties. To guarantee the confidentiality of the communication we use SSL-encryption for sensible sectors, such as emails you are sending us over our contact form. Regarding the current level of knowledge this form of encryption is viewed as safe.

Right of information, deletion and blocking

You have the right to be informed about all personal data which is saved about you. Furthermore you can demand the correction of false data, as well as the deleting of unneeded data, as long as legal regulations do not claim otherwise, as in obligatory data storage. In this case you can demand blocking your data.
